Admission Process Our treatment team understands that this is a difficult and confusing process for students and family members. We are here to help you in any way we can to assure you get the services you need. We are always improving our collaborative relationships with other residential and hospital programs and may have recommendations for more appropriate programmatic services if we cannot meet your needs.
Our process starts with a review of records encompassing psychological, psychiatric educational, medical, family and social\emotional histories. Our team makes a decision to interview students and families based on this review of records as well as collateral contacts with involved school, county and mental health personnel.
Campus Visit Our parent(s) / guardian(s) are a large part of our treatment process here at Charlton as we believe family therapy is very important in instilling lasting change. We encourage at least one if not both parents to start their involvement early by touring Charlton as part of the admission process. This allows parent(s)/guardian(s) the opportunity to get to know the Charlton program and staff on a more personal level. Our multidisciplinary treatment team then conducts a formal student\family interview before a student is accepted.
